Porter & Stone

Babylon Sapphire

Misc Fabric

Babylon Sapphire has a dark, jewel-toned presence, with teal-blue highlights flickering through the surface pattern. The repeating geometric motif reads crisp against the near-black ground, giving the fabric a rich, graphic feel.

About this fabric

This Porter & Stone fabric is composed of 95% polyester and 5% lurex, with a 140cm width and a 24cm pattern repeat. In this colourway, the sapphire tone sits firmly on the cool side, with turquoise and blackened blue threads creating a moody, night-sky effect. The lurex content catches the light subtly, so the pattern has a fine metallic glint rather than a bright shine. Visually it feels structured and decorative, with enough depth to suit statement upholstery or tailored drapery in a modern interior.

How to use it

Use Babylon Sapphire on an accent chair, bench or curtains where its deep teal ground can add colour without feeling bright. It works well with ebony woods, smoked glass and soft neutrals that let the metallic flicker stand out.

Pair with velvet, walnut and brushed metal for a rich, modern scheme.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
