About this fabric

This plain fabric has a softly textured weave rather than a printed motif, with fine horizontal and vertical irregularities visible across the slate-coloured surface. The 410gsm weight gives Ruskin Slate a substantial upholstery character, while its 22 threads per cm create a closely structured appearance. It has a 140cm usable width and a standard length of 30m. With both vertical and horizontal pattern repeats recorded as 0cm, the uninterrupted ground is straightforward to position across a piece.

How to use it

Use Ruskin Slate on a generously upholstered chair, sofa or headboard where its cool blue-grey tone can anchor warmer timber and soften crisp whites. Its restrained colour also works with smoky blues, stone and muted green accents.

Use this cool slate weave to bring quiet depth to upholstered seating and pair it with pale woods, chalky neutrals or brushed metal.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
