About this fabric

Catalogued as a fabric, Holmes - Indigo has a visibly dense, softly brushed surface that gives the large-scale check a tactile, textile-rich finish. The design is built from intersecting charcoal and indigo blocks, slate-blue bands and lighter oatmeal threads, with narrow rust-red lines providing definition. Its dark tonal depth makes the plaid feel grounded and relaxed rather than bright or formal.

How to use it

Use the cool indigo ground to anchor an occasional chair, bench or headboard, then pick up its slate-blue and oatmeal lines in cushions, throws or painted joinery. The fine rust-red accents work well as a small warm note against otherwise quiet neutrals.

Use this deep indigo plaid on occasional chairs, footstools or relaxed country-style upholstery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
