About this fabric

The design is formed from repeated narrow vertical stripe groupings, with richer red and coral bands set against finer charcoal, teal and pale lines. Rather than reading as bright scarlet, the red has a softened, warm depth that sits comfortably beside the stone-ivory background. Fine horizontal texture across the weave gently breaks up the colour and gives the surface a subtle tactile character. The orderly stripe arrangement gives this colourway a smart, tailored appearance while retaining the visual warmth of its muted palette.

How to use it

Use Umbala Soft Red on a streamlined chair, headboard or full-length curtain, pairing its warm red and coral stripes with ivory upholstery, charcoal details or muted teal cushions.

Use the warm red stripes with ivory, charcoal or muted teal accents for a tailored, quietly colourful scheme.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
