Arabella Grey has a misty, watercolour look, with birds and soft foliage floating across a cool grey ground. The overall effect is airy and subdued, with the motif gently blurred into the cloth.

About this fabric

Woven in 82% viscose and 18% linen, this fabric has a light handle at 117gsm and is specified for curtains, blinds and soft furnishings. The usable width is 136cm, with a full width of 138cm, and the design repeats every 68cm horizontally and 70.2cm vertically. In this grey colourway, the painted birds, stems and leaf forms sit over a pale silvered ground, with hints of lilac, sage and faded blue softening the composition. It is dry clean only and iron safe, making it practical for decorative schemes that want a calm, brushed, painterly finish.

How to use it

This cool grey colourway works beautifully in rooms with whitewashed timber, aged mirror or brushed nickel, where its misty tones can stay light. Use it for relaxed curtains or blinds to bring quiet movement without overpowering the scheme.

Use with pale woods and quiet neutrals to let the painterly bird motif feel airy and refined.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
