Nara grey
Kyotogardens Fabricnara/fao/bam
Nara Grey shows the Kyotogardens design in a pale, misted grey that lets the painterly branches and hanging seed forms drift softly across the cloth. The overall effect is airy and diffuse, with the motif sitting gently on the surface rather than reading boldly.

About this fabric
Woven in 82% viscose and 18% linen, this fabric has a light 117 gsm handle and is supplied at 138cm wide with a 133cm usable width. The design repeats every 44cm horizontally and 42.5cm vertically, creating a large-scale trailing botanical pattern that works well across fuller curtain drops. In this colourway, the background is an off-white grey with cool, misty depth, while the branches are drawn in smoky charcoal and the leaf forms are washed with pale taupe, blush and silvery blue accents. It is suitable for curtains, blinds and soft furnishings, and the dry-clean-only care and do-not-iron finish suit a decorative drapery use.
How to use it
Use Nara Grey where you want a quiet, atmospheric botanical that will sit comfortably beside plaster pinks, pale oak and chalky neutrals. It is especially effective in softly lit rooms, where the translucent greys and muted blush notes can breathe.
Its pale, airy ground keeps the painterly branches feeling light and serene.

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Nara grey without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
