About this fabric

The woven ground is a soft, warm beige, crossed by narrow muted red stripes with slim pale lines that sharpen the vertical layout. The red reads as softened brick rather than a bright or cool scarlet, giving the colourway gentle depth as the texture catches the light. With a 177 gsm weight and 140 cm usable width, it is well suited to curtain making and other lighter soft-furnishing applications. The design has a 3.8 cm horizontal repeat and a 0 cm vertical repeat, so the stripes can be aligned easily without a vertical pattern match.

How to use it

Use Thornwick Red for relaxed full-length curtains where its warm brick stripes can sit against cream walls, oatmeal upholstery or pale timber. Its restrained contrast also works well in country or heritage-inspired rooms without making the window feel busy.

Use the muted brick-red stripes at windows or alongside oatmeal, cream and natural wood tones for a quietly collected scheme.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
