Kitchen Garden Embroidery English Quince

Highgrove by Sanderson Fabrics FabricSAF0464-01

An ivory ground sets off a lively embroidered stripe of fruit, leaves and scalloped bands in warm, garden-bright colours. The result feels decorative and fresh, with enough structure to hold its own on statement pieces.

About this fabric

Kitchen Garden Embroidery English Quince is a substantial fabric with a weight of 355 gsm and a usable width of 129 cm, giving it the body to suit upholstery work well. The embroidery reads clearly against the pale ground, with apple, quince and berry tones picked out in softened reds, blues, greens and pinks rather than sharp primaries. Olive scalloped verticals give the design its rhythm, while the 47.5 cm vertical repeat and 64 cm horizontal repeat create a bold, ordered stripe effect. With 40 threads per cm, the cloth has a finely worked surface that keeps the motif crisp and detailed.

How to use it

This colourway works beautifully on an occasional chair, dining seat or bench where the ivory ground can lighten a room. Pair it with painted wood, warm oak or simple linen so the embroidered fruit stripe stays the focus.

Use it to bring a tailored, English-country feel to a room without losing freshness.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Kitchen Garden Embroidery English Quince without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
