About this colour

At #818479, Gardenia Green reads as a softened mid green with enough grey in it to calm the colour and keep it understated on a wall. It reflects light gently rather than brightly, so it feels composed and steady rather than fresh or vivid. In north-facing light it will lean cooler and a little more muted, with the grey-green side becoming more apparent. In south-facing rooms it warms slightly and shows more of its olive cast, while still staying restrained beside timber, painted joinery or upholstery in stone, flax, mushroom or deeper green tones.
