About this colour

This colour reads as a soft, near-neutral grey with a crisp pale feel rather than a creamy one, so it keeps walls looking clear and orderly. In north-facing light it can take on a cooler, slightly flatter mood, which suits a calm, understated room. In south-facing light it holds its lightness well and feels brighter, with just enough grey to stop it from washing out. On woodwork in Waterbased Eggshell it gives a neat, pared-back edge, and on walls in Active Emulsion it sits comfortably beside muted blues, stone tones and deep charcoal upholstery.

How to use it

It works well in sitting rooms, bedrooms and hallways where you want a pale backdrop that does not fight with patterned curtains or upholstered furniture. Pair it with painted joinery in a slightly deeper grey or with natural oak and linen in soft, cool tones.

A pale grey wall colour that stays clear and restrained without feeling cold.

Order it with the cloth

A pot comes off the same order as the fabric, so the wall and the chair in front of it are chosen together. The making is ours: cut, sewn and fitted in our own Heybridge workshop, with Simon over every stage.

Pairs well with

Ocean Spray Light is a wall colour, so these are the cloths that sit against it: one of them on the curtains, the paint behind. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.
