About this colour

This shade reads as a soft, muted grey-green with a beige undertone, so it lifts light gently without looking pale or chalky. In north-facing rooms it can feel more stone-led and slightly cooler, which gives it a calm, restrained edge. In south-facing light the green notes come forward and the colour feels warmer, more mellow and a little more pastoral. On walls it works well with natural oak, aged brass and linen weaves, and on woodwork it gives a quieter finish than a clean white while still framing the room clearly. The Active Emulsion and Waterbased Eggshell finishes suit it for both broad wall areas and joinery.

How to use it

Silver Fern is well suited to sitting behind upholstered seating in oatmeal, moss, taupe or faded blue-green shades. It also pairs neatly with painted skirting or cupboards in deeper greens, putty tones or soft cream woodwork.

A calm grey-green that reads warmer in south light and more stony in north light.
