Amsterdam Green

2026 Paint PaintSAP1003-42

Amsterdam Green is Sanderson’s quiet, grown-up green in the 2026 Paint range. It sits close to charcoal and reads as a restrained, architectural colour rather than a bright green.

About this colour

This shade, #555553, is a very dark muted green with a soft brown-grey undertone, so it holds its depth without looking flat or black. In north-facing rooms it will feel more sombre and cooler, with the green note receding and the grey coming forward. In south-facing light it warms slightly and shows more of its olive cast, while still staying disciplined and low in glare. It works well beside pale stone, warm white, aged brass and dark timber, and in Sanderson’s Active Emulsion or Waterbased Eggshell it gives walls and woodwork a calm, tailored finish.

How to use it

Use it in a study, snug or hallway where you want a grounded wall colour that can sit behind antique oak or painted joinery. It also pairs neatly with muted upholstery in camel, oatmeal, tobacco or deep blue-green tones.

A deep muted green-grey that reads calm and dark on the wall.
