About this colour

At #9C9C9C, Gull Grey reads as a true neutral grey with a slight cool cast, so it feels clean rather than muddy. It reflects a fair amount of light for a mid grey, which keeps it from feeling heavy, but it still gives a room a settled, grounded look. In north-facing light it can take on a cooler, more steely note, while in south-facing rooms it softens and feels a little warmer and gentler. In Active Emulsion or Waterbased Eggshell, it works well on walls or woodwork beside oak, walnut, painted joinery, and upholstery in navy, sage, cream, or deeper grey tones.
