About this colour

This shade reads as a gentle sand-beige with enough warmth to feel inviting, but enough restraint to stay composed beside patterned interiors. On a wall, #DCCCBD lifts light softly rather than bouncing it, so it will brighten a room without looking stark. In a north-facing room it can edge slightly cooler and more muted, bringing out its greige side. In south-facing light it turns creamier and warmer, showing more of its sandy character. It sits comfortably with walnut, oak, rattan and painted trims, and it gives strong support to linen, checked upholstery and traditional florals.

How to use it

Use Sand Tan in living rooms, hallways or bedrooms where you want an easy neutral that can carry both curtains and upholstery with patterned or plain grounds. It works well on woodwork too, especially beside darker timber, soft whites and muted greens.

A warm beige like this gives a room a calm, settled wall colour without feeling heavy.
