About this colour

This shade reads as a muted blue-grey with a clear cool undertone, and the #64797C value keeps it mid-toned rather than dark. It absorbs a fair amount of light, so it can feel more enclosed in a north-facing room, where the blue note becomes sharper and the grey takes on a quieter, more reserved look. In south-facing light it softens and opens a little, showing more of its blue-green character without turning bright. In Active Emulsion or Waterbased Eggshell, it works well beside pale oak, dark walnut, brushed brass, and upholstery in cream, flax, charcoal, or deep teal.

How to use it

Chasm suits studies, sitting rooms, and dining rooms where a calm, composed wall colour is wanted. It is especially good with painted joinery, natural timber, and upholstered pieces in linen tones, ink blues, or restrained greens.

A cool blue-grey like Chasm gives a room a calm, anchored feel without looking heavy.
