About this colour

This shade reads as a warm, muted taupe with a gentle grey cast, so it feels earthy rather than pink or beige. In a north-facing room it can take on a cooler, more stone-like note and may look slightly deeper; in south light it softens and the warmer brown undertone comes forward. It reflects light quietly rather than brightly, so it will not lift a room much, but it does keep its shape well across larger surfaces. In Active Emulsion or Waterbased Eggshell, Briarwood works well beside oak, walnut and painted joinery, and it has enough restraint to sit comfortably with linen, velvet and patterned curtains in muted greens, clays or deep blues.

How to use it

Use Briarwood in living rooms, studies or bedrooms where you want a calm backdrop for timber furniture and upholstered pieces. It is especially suited to painted skirtings, doors and shelves alongside warm wood tones and understated upholstery.
