Newbury Fabric

Newbury Terracotta brings a warm, richly layered palette to a densely patterned botanical fabric. Its deep navy ground makes the terracotta, ochre and softly cream motifs appear especially vivid.

About this fabric

The design is filled with large stylised leaves, curling paisley forms, clustered seedheads and floral shapes, creating a richly ornamental surface. Terracotta petals and foliage provide the dominant warmth, while ochre and cream details add depth across the dark navy ground. The close-set pattern and visibly substantial woven texture give this fabric a tapestry-like presence suited to upholstery. Small touches of muted blue and rust-red within the motifs prevent the colourway from feeling flat, adding visual complexity when viewed up close.

How to use it

Use Newbury Terracotta on an accent chair, footstool or occasional sofa where its warm terracotta and ochre botanicals can be balanced by navy, tobacco, parchment and natural wood. Keep surrounding patterns quieter so the large-scale foliage remains the focal point.

Pair this richly coloured upholstery fabric with dark wood, warm neutrals and aged brass for an inviting, layered scheme.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
