Matador Fabric

Matador Brick is a deep, warm terracotta shade with the softly burnished appearance of the fabric gathered across the swatch. Its smooth surface shifts subtly from dusty brick highlights to deeper russet shadows in the folds.

About this fabric

The close-up shows a plain, dense-looking cloth with a soft, velvety surface and restrained lustre rather than a visible woven motif. Its brick colour sits between terracotta and muted red, giving the swatch a grounded, earthen warmth. Deep folds create pronounced tonal variation, with the raised areas catching muted light and the creases reading as rich brown-red. The substantial appearance makes this colourway particularly well suited to upholstery where its depth can be seen across curved or tailored forms.

How to use it

Pair Matador Brick with aged timber, dark walnut or warm neutral walls to reinforce its earthy depth. On a chair, headboard or sofa, the softly lustrous terracotta surface can act as a rich focal colour without becoming bright or glossy.

Use its warm brick tone and soft lustre to bring depth to tailored upholstery and statement seating.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
