Rouen Fabric

Rouen Royal is shown here as a near-black blue-green cloth, gathered into broad, fluid folds. Its close, even surface keeps the colour deep and quiet rather than patterned.

About this fabric

This colourway reads as a rich blue-green softened almost to charcoal, giving the cloth a distinctly cool, shadowed depth. The fine, even surface visible across the flatter areas is plain and discreet, with no motif competing with the tone. Its lightweight-looking cloth falls into fluid folds and narrow ripples, making the depth of colour shift subtly between illuminated ridges and dark recesses. The result is a restrained, atmospheric fabric suited to drapery where the colour and movement of the cloth provide the visual interest.

How to use it

Use Rouen Royal for full-length curtains in a dark, tailored room, where its near-black teal tone can sit against pale stone, warm timber or brushed metal. The fluid folds will add softness without introducing a pattern.

Use this near-black blue-green shade for full-length curtains or softly gathered drapery in a dramatic, refined scheme.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
