Banyan Soft Blue is a dense woven textile with a cool blue-grey ground and closely spaced, pale raised zigzags. Its irregular broken-chevron texture gives the surface a tactile, softly dimensional finish.

About this fabric

The muted blue-grey base reads cool and quietly atmospheric, while oat-coloured yarns trace uneven zigzag lines across the face of the cloth. Light catches the raised pale ridges, bringing subtle contrast to the otherwise restrained colourway without making the pattern feel sharp or bright. Weighing 526 gsm with 36 threads per cm, this substantial weave is well suited to upholstery. The pattern repeats every 1 cm vertically and 3 cm horizontally, with a 125 cm useable width and a 25 m standard length.

How to use it

Use Banyan Soft Blue on a statement chair, sofa or upholstered headboard, pairing its cool blue-grey tone with chalky cream, pale timber and brushed metal. Keep surrounding patterns simple so the small-scale zigzag texture remains the room’s quiet point of interest.

Use this cool blue-grey upholstery with pale neutrals, warm oak and softly textured plains for a layered scheme.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
