About this fabric

This 639 gsm velvet has a substantial presence, with a dense-looking surface that allows the sable-brown ground to read as richly shaded rather than flat. Each paisley is picked out in a muted taupe-grey, with fine inner curls and ornamental edging visible across the repeat. The pattern measures 40.5 cm vertically by 35 cm horizontally, creating a consistent medium-scale arrangement for upholstered pieces. At 140 cm wide and with 145 threads per centimetre, it is a weighty textile suited to furniture where its dark tone and detailed paisley repeat can be properly seen.

How to use it

Use this deep sable colour on a buttoned armchair, headboard or occasional sofa, pairing it with warm timber, aged brass and softer taupe textiles. Its low-contrast paisley works especially well when the surrounding scheme is kept tonal rather than brightly patterned.
