About this colour

This shade has a cool base with just enough blue in it to stop it feeling flat, so it looks calm and composed on a wall. It absorbs more light than it reflects, giving rooms a settled, enveloping quality rather than a bright lift. In a north-facing room, Nocturne can feel more slate-like and sober, with the blue-grey side becoming clearer. In south-facing light, the colour softens and gains a little warmth, though it still remains distinctly cool and measured. It works well beside pale oak, dark walnut, brushed metal finishes, and upholstery in stone, taupe or muted indigo.

How to use it

Nocturne suits living rooms, studies and bedrooms where a deeper neutral is needed on walls or joinery. It pairs especially well with oak furniture, painted trim in soft white, and curtains in natural linen, charcoal or subdued blue tones.

On a wall, Nocturne gives a room a calm, shaded depth without turning heavy.
