Hikari Slate has a cool, weathered slate-grey ground crossed by narrow ivory lines, forming rows of irregular vertical bars. Its close, nubby weave gives the surface a softly flecked depth rather than a flat printed finish.

About this fabric

The dense woven construction combines dark slate-grey and warm ivory yarns in a compact geometric arrangement, with pale horizontal bands separating the uneven vertical motifs. At 514 gsm, it has the visual substance expected of an upholstery textile, while the 137 cm useable width allows practical cutting for furniture projects. The pattern repeats every 8.5 cm vertically and 16 cm horizontally, keeping the rhythm controlled across a larger upholstered surface. Hikari Slate’s subdued contrast and slightly earthy cast make the design read calm and tailored rather than stark.

How to use it

Use Hikari Slate on a sofa, bench or occasional chair where its cool slate tone can balance pale timber, chalky walls and warm leather accents. The ivory grid lines also make it easy to connect with light neutral cushions without losing the depth of the darker ground.

Use the softly contrasted slate-and-ivory weave to bring quiet structure to upholstered seating.
