About this fabric

Makoto Parchment is a substantial 529gsm woven fabric with a useable width of 137cm. In this colourway, the warm beige ground is lifted by cream and taupe brush-like marks, while the closely worked surface creates a dry, textured relief. The abstract repeat measures 38cm vertically by 16.5cm horizontally, giving the broken vertical motif a considered medium scale. With 92 threads per cm and a standard length of 30m, this weighty textile is particularly well suited to upholstery projects where its layered texture can be appreciated at close range.

How to use it

Use Makoto Parchment on a tailored sofa, dining chair or headboard where its warm beige tone can soften darker timber and stone. Pair it with oatmeal, chalk and muted taupe accents to bring out the swatch’s quiet tonal variation.

The warm parchment ground and irregular woven marks bring softly textured depth to upholstered seating.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
