About this fabric

At 514gsm, Hikari Fossil has a dense, weighty handle suited to upholstery. The colour sits between chalk, warm grey and muted taupe, giving the design a softened fossil-like appearance rather than a crisp, cool grey. Raised woven lines form compact vertical columns interrupted by irregular horizontal blocks, while the 91 threads per cm add fine surface detail. The 137cm usable width is paired with an 8.5cm vertical and 16cm horizontal pattern repeat.

How to use it

Use Hikari Fossil on a structured armchair, ottoman or sofa where its pale greige tone can soften darker timber and contrast with charcoal, ecru or warm metallic accents. The broken geometric weave also suits a calm, textural scheme without introducing a strong colour contrast.

Use the pale stone-grey tone to bring quiet texture to tailored seating, benches or occasional chairs.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
