Makoto Seaglass

Tomoko FabricSCF0041-06

Makoto Seaglass combines a cool, muted blue-green ground with broken cream shapes that appear to drift vertically across the woven surface. Its softly mottled texture gives the colourway a tactile, naturally irregular character.

About this fabric

This substantial 529gsm fabric has a dense 92-threads-per-centimetre weave, visible in the fine horizontal and vertical texture of the swatch. Seaglass teal reads as a softened blue-green rather than a bright turquoise, while the warm cream motifs bring contrast without making the pattern feel sharp. The irregular, elongated shapes repeat over 38cm vertically and 16.5cm horizontally, creating a lively organic rhythm at medium scale. With a 137cm usable width and 30m standard length, Makoto Seaglass is well suited to upholstered applications.

How to use it

Pair this cool seaglass teal with chalky cream, pale timber and weathered neutrals to echo the swatch’s softened contrast. On a sofa, headboard or occasional chair, the cream vertical motifs will add movement while the textured ground keeps the overall effect relaxed.

Use this cool seaglass teal on upholstered seating where its cream organic pattern can provide textural interest.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
