Mowsley Slate

Essential Weaves Vol 3 FabricEWV3MOWSLEY

Mowsley Slate shows a restrained, all-over small-scale lattice that reads quietly textured rather than boldly patterned. Its pale slate grey ground gives the fabric a cool, tailored feel.

About this fabric

From Ashley Wilde’s Essential Weaves Vol 3, Mowsley Slate is a drape-only fabric woven in 68% Recycle Polyester, 26% Cotton and 6% Polyester. The 145cm width and 326gsm weight give it a substantial curtain cloth handle, while the 4cm by 3cm repeat creates a neat, regular surface. Visually, the colour is a soft, misty slate grey with a gentle tonal contrast that keeps the motif visible without making it heavy. The small repeating trellis-like shape feels crisp and controlled, with the weave adding a subtle matte texture across the whole cloth.

How to use it

Use this cool slate shade for relaxed but polished curtains, especially where you want pattern at close range without a strong colour statement. It sits neatly with white walls, pale oak and deeper graphite or navy accents.

A cool, understated grey that layers easily with pale woods, chalky neutrals and deeper navy accents.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
