About this colour

This shade sits around a soft graphite blue, with the blue tone more visible than the grey in brighter light and the grey taking over as the room dims. In north-facing rooms it can read colder and more slate-like, with a quiet depth that absorbs light rather than reflecting it back. In south-facing light the blue comes forward a little more, softening the colour so it feels less severe and more layered. On walls it gives a contained, elegant backdrop for walnut, dark oak, brushed metal and muted upholstery in stone, parchment or tobacco tones.

How to use it

Ink works well in a study, dining room or snug, especially on walls with painted woodwork in a lighter neutral or the same deep tone. It also sits neatly beside patterned curtains, leather seating and timber furniture in warm finishes.

On a wall, Ink reads as a cool, deep blue-grey with a calm, closing-in depth.
