Ellsworth Ivory

Chiaroscuro Fabric

Ellsworth Ivory is a pale, near-white textile with barely-there horizontal tonal blocks moving across its surface. The light catches its fine, slightly translucent face gently, keeping the colour airy rather than stark.

About this fabric

The ivory ground is softened by quiet bands of diluted grey-beige, giving the cloth a restrained, painterly rhythm without a defined motif. Its fine, lightweight appearance makes it best suited to drapery, where the subtle tonal shifts can remain visible in natural light. No performance features are noted for this fabric.

How to use it

Use Ellsworth Ivory at full-length windows in rooms with pale oak, chalky plaster and warm white furnishings. Its almost-white tone also works well as a softly layered voile-style treatment where a bright, calm finish is wanted.

A light ivory ground with subtle tonal bands for airy, understated window treatments.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Ellsworth Ivory without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
