About this fabric

The fabric reads as a warm, intense scarlet rather than a softened burgundy or orange-red. A fine, closely woven texture is visible across the surface, with delicate vertical grain adding quiet movement to the otherwise plain design. Slight shifts between brighter red and deeper crimson show where the light catches the weave. This is a confident colourway suited to upholstery where a strong, tailored red can take centre stage.

How to use it

Use Markham Scarlet on a statement armchair, dining seat or ottoman, pairing its warm red depth with ivory, charcoal, dark wood or aged brass. Its plain surface also works well alongside patterned cushions without competing for attention.

A rich scarlet plain weave brings a confident, warm accent to tailored upholstery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
