Alie Danube

Essential Weaves Vol 2 FabricEWV2ALIE

Alie Danube is a cool, muted slate blue with a fine woven surface that gives the cloth quiet depth rather than strong contrast. The close texture reads smooth from a distance and softly grainy up close.

About this fabric

This Ashley Wilde fabric from Essential Weaves Vol 2 is composed of 78% polyester and 22% cotton, and is supplied as drapes only. At 140cm wide and 360gsm, it has enough body to hang neatly while still feeling refined and manageable. The visible weave is small and regular, giving the Danube colourway a restrained, denim-meets-slate appearance with a slightly softened finish. Its 2cm vertical repeat and 1cm horizontal repeat indicate a very tight pattern, so the overall effect stays calm and understated rather than decorative.

How to use it

Use this slate blue on lined curtains or understated Roman blinds where you want colour without brightness. It pairs well with pale oak, brushed metal, and chalky neutrals for a composed, contemporary room.

A cool slate blue with a subtle woven texture, ideal for tailored curtains and calm layered interiors.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
