Romaine Stripe Blue

Brooke Stripes FabricF4838-02

Romaine Stripe Blue pairs soft slate-blue stripes with creamy ground tones for a classic, quietly fresh look. The vertical stripe reads tailored and orderly, with a gently textured surface that keeps the colourway feeling relaxed rather than sharp.

About this fabric

Part of the Brooke Stripes collection by Colefax and Fowler, this fabric is woven in a 52% Linen, 42% Viscose, 6% Polyamide composition and measures approximately 149cm wide. The design has a vertical repeat of 0cm and an approximate horizontal repeat of 8cm, creating evenly spaced stripes with a regular, architectural rhythm. In this colourway, the blue sits in a muted slate register against warm cream bands, giving the cloth a cool-but-soft contrast that feels refined without becoming stark. The surface shows the natural slub and slight tonal movement you would expect from a linen-rich weave, with enough body to use comfortably across both upholstery and drapery applications.

How to use it

Use it on a tailored armchair, banquette or Roman blind where the calm blue stripe can bring definition without overpowering the room. It works especially well with pale woods, chalky whites and washed neutrals, which pick up the fabric’s soft cream ground.

A balanced blue-and-cream stripe that feels crisp enough for tailored upholstery yet light enough for elegant curtains.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Romaine Stripe Blue without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
