About this fabric

This Morris & Co. fabric has a substantial 402 gsm weight, supporting its classification as an upholstery textile. Its 137 cm usable width is filled with overlapping leafy stems, pale grey foliage, cream highlights and restrained coral-red and ochre berries. The 63.5 cm vertical repeat and 34 cm horizontal repeat keep the botanical pattern continuous across a larger cut. A visible fine textile grain softens the contrast between the slate ground and the lighter leaves, while the muted red berries provide small points of warmth.

How to use it

Use Mineral/Slate on a statement armchair, dining seat or upholstered bench, pairing its cool slate tone with chalky neutrals, aged timber and small accents of coral or ochre drawn from the berries.

A cool, detailed Morris botanical for upholstery where its slate ground and small berry accents can be appreciated up close.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Bramble Mineral/Slate without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
