Thornby Silver

Essential Weaves Vol 3 FabricEWV3THORNBY

Thornby Silver has a cool, softly reflective silver-grey ground with a slender vertical slub effect running through the surface. The finish feels lightly striated and quietly textural rather than boldly patterned.

About this fabric

From Ashley Wilde’s Essential Weaves Vol 3 collection, Thornby Silver is a drapes-only fabric made in India from 68% recycle polyester, 26% cotton and 6% polyester. At 138cm wide and 225gsm, it has enough substance for a tailored window treatment while still reading as a decorative textile rather than an upholstery cloth. The visible surface is a pale silver grey with gentle tonal variation, broken by fine vertical streaking that gives the cloth a linen-like, woven character. Its overall effect is cool, understated and bright enough to lift a room without looking stark.

How to use it

Use this silver-grey colourway for crisp curtains in rooms that need softness and light control. It pairs neatly with white, charcoal and pale timber finishes, where its subtle texture can do the visual work.

A cool silver-grey weave that adds quiet texture without overpowering a scheme.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
