Papilio Mineral/Linen

Botanica Fabric FabricCCF0221-03

Papilio Mineral/Linen places an eclectic collection of butterflies, beetles and a dragonfly across a softly textured mineral-cream ground. Blue, rust, yellow and charcoal details give the natural-toned cloth a lively illustrated character.

About this fabric

The pale ground has a subtle woven texture that reads as a cool, mineral cream rather than a bright white. Across it, a vivid blue beetle, orange ladybird, yellow beetle, translucent dragonfly and several patterned butterflies create varied points of colour, while the dark moth forms add depth. At 312gsm, this is a substantial mid-weight fabric suited to both upholstery and drapery. It has a 137cm usable width, a 48cm vertical pattern repeat and a stated 0cm horizontal repeat; the standard length is 40m.

How to use it

Use Papilio Mineral/Linen on an occasional chair, cushion or relaxed blind where its cool cream base can sit alongside pale timber and warm neutrals. Pick out the beetle blue or ladybird rust in a plain companion textile for a more considered scheme.

Pair the mineral cream ground with natural woods and selectively repeat its blue, rust and ochre insect accents.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
