Henley Licorice

Henley FabricCCF0055-20

Henley Licorice is a deep, near-black woven cloth with a softly peppered surface that shifts between charcoal, olive-grey and muted brown as the light moves across it. Its quiet tonal variation gives the dark colour depth without introducing a formal motif.

About this fabric

The close-up shows a dense, irregular weave with fine grain and scattered lighter flecks, creating a tactile surface rather than a printed pattern. At 368gsm, this is a substantial cloth with the visual and physical presence expected of upholstery fabric. It has a useable width of 137cm and a 40m standard length, while both pattern repeats are 0cm, making the textured ground continuous across the width. The licorice shade feels grounded and softly softened rather than stark black, with olive-charcoal notes visible among the darker threads.

How to use it

Use Henley Licorice on a sofa, armchair or dining seat where its deep charcoal-black tone can anchor a room without looking flat. Pair it with warm timber, aged metal, or lighter natural textiles to bring out the subtle olive-grey flecks in the weave.

A substantial dark woven upholstery cloth whose peppered surface adds quiet depth to contemporary and classic seating.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
