Jaipur Noir is a near-black charcoal chenille with a dense, finely textured weave. In the swatch, its almost-black surface shows restrained brown-black variation rather than a flat, solid colour.

About this fabric

The close weave creates a softly tactile surface that catches the light gently, revealing fine tonal movement across the dark ground. Its 456 gsm weight and 137 cm usable width give it a substantial upholstery presence. With a 0 cm vertical and 0 cm horizontal pattern repeat, the plain surface can be positioned continuously without matching a motif. The overall effect is deep, understated and tailored, with the charcoal tone lending more softness than a pure black.

How to use it

Use Jaipur Noir on a sofa, armchair or bench where its deep charcoal tone can anchor a room without the starkness of absolute black. Pair it with warm timber, aged metal and lighter textured cushions to bring out the subtle brown-black variation in the weave.

Use this deep charcoal chenille to give upholstered seating a grounded, tailored finish with subtle woven depth.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
