About this fabric

The charcoal-and-pale-grey contrast creates a restrained, architectural colourway rather than a flat block of grey. Close-set diagonal bars form repeating chevrons, while the woven surface gives the pattern subtle tactile definition as the light moves across it. At 310gsm, this is a versatile mid-weight fabric suited to both upholstery and drapery. Its 2.4cm vertical repeat and 5.7cm horizontal repeat keep the geometric motif compact and easy to position across a 137cm usable width.

How to use it

Use Urban Charcoal to sharpen a pale grey, white or concrete-toned room, where its cool charcoal geometry can define a chair, headboard or pair of curtains without introducing a strong colour. Its small repeat also works neatly on cushions and other compact upholstered pieces.

A cool charcoal-and-pale-grey woven chevron that brings graphic texture to upholstery, cushions, curtains and blinds.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Urban Charcoal without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
