About this fabric

This Chilgrove fabric from Colefax and Fowler is woven in a 75% linen, 25% acrylic composition, with an approximate width of 128cm and a large repeat of V 65cm / H 64cm. The design reads as an open botanical trail rather than a dense all-over print, with looping stems and feathery leaves spaced across the cloth. In this colourway, the reds are muted coral and terracotta tones, balanced by fresh leaf greens and cool blue-grey accents that keep the pattern feeling light. The warm neutral ground softens the contrast, so the overall effect is airy and decorative rather than bold. It is suited to upholstery or drapery where a patterned linen look with a relaxed finish is wanted.

How to use it

Use it to lift upholstered chairs, cushions or curtains in rooms with painted timber, pale walls or natural wood. The soft red-green palette works especially well with oatmeal, sage and weathered blue accents.

Fresh, painterly foliage on a warm neutral ground suits airy country schemes and relaxed upholstered pieces.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
