Colefax Classics II FabricF3824-04
Melbury Old Blue shows a softly faded blue ground lifted by creamy scrolling damask forms and tiny striped berry motifs. The overall effect is gentle and timeworn rather than sharp or bright.

About this fabric
Woven in 100% linen, Melbury Old Blue has a relaxed natural handle that suits its refined, traditional patterning. The design reads as a large-scale damask, with pale ivory and beige leaf forms floating over a cool, powdery blue ground. Small oval berry details add a subtle point of contrast without interrupting the fabric's easy, aged character. The repeat is approximately V 76cm / H 45.5cm, and the cloth is approximately 137cm wide, making it useful for considered furnishing schemes. Care code Q 8 : T 3 and fire code √CM are supplied for this exact fabric.
How to use it
Use it on curtains, occasional chairs or cushions where the faded blue will sit comfortably with painted woodwork and pale timber. It works especially well with chalky whites, stone shades and other softly weathered blues.
The muted blue ground and pale scrolling motif give this linen a calm, elegant feel for classic interiors.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
