Peveril Blue

Chilgrove FabricF4900-02

Peveril Blue is a classic damask with a light, airy feel, set against a pale ground that lets the blue motif read clearly without becoming heavy. The woven texture gives the pattern a softly aged, linen-rich character.

About this fabric

Woven in a 60% Linen, 30% Cotton, 10% Polyamide blend, this fabric has the dry handle and gentle structure you would expect from a decorative upholstery textile. The repeat is V 62cm / H 70cm approx, which gives the large-scale damask a settled, balanced rhythm across the width of the cloth. In this colourway, the blue sits in a soft powdery register rather than a strong navy, so the motif feels fresh, slightly antique and easy to live with. The pale ground and lightly textured surface keep the design from feeling flat, while the repeated medallions and scrolling leaves create enough presence for a furnished room. Care code Q 8 + T 3 and fire code √BM are supplied for this exact fabric.

How to use it

Use Peveril Blue on a pair of formal curtains, or upholster a statement chair where the pale ground can brighten the room. It works especially well with chalky whites, weathered wood and muted blue accents.

A fresh blue damask that suits relaxed upholstery or elegant curtains.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Peveril Blue without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
