Perseus Red/Aqua
Chilgrove FabricF4348-02
Perseus Red/Aqua combines deep red motifs with a cool aqua ground, creating a crisp, tapestry-like pattern full of contrast. The repeat reads clearly across the cloth, with pale detailing that softens the bolder blocks of colour.

About this fabric
This fabric has a large repeat, measuring approximately V 56cm by H 136cm, which gives the design a pronounced, architectural rhythm across the width. The cloth is woven in a blend of 49% viscose, 26% linen, 8% polyester and 17% cotton, so it has the look of a refined decorative textile rather than a plain ground. In this colourway, the aqua background feels fresh but slightly muted, allowing the red floral medallions and ivory outlines to stand out sharply without looking harsh. The overall effect is busy, patterned and confident, with enough texture in the weave to give the surface a tailored, furnished feel.
How to use it
Use this colourway on an accent chair, ottoman or window seat where the red motifs can punctuate a room of lighter neutrals. It also works well with dark wood and aged brass, with the aqua ground helping to keep the scheme from feeling too weighty.
A lively statement fabric for upholstered pieces that can handle a bold, layered scheme.

Pairs well with
A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Perseus Red/Aqua without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
