Marquis Multi

Chilgrove FabricF4878-03

Marquis Multi pairs a warm cream ground with trailing floral vines in blue, red, gold and soft green. The design feels lively and artisanal, with the embroidery-like motif standing out clearly against the pale base.

About this fabric

This Colefax and Fowler fabric is woven in a 59% linen, 24% polyester and 17% cotton blend, giving the cloth a natural-looking texture with a little added stability. The repeat is generous at approximately V 76cm and H 63cm, which suits the large scrolling floral pattern and its spaced, decorative rhythm. In Marquis Multi, the cream background keeps the palette light, while the multicoloured detailing adds crisp blue accents, red petals and yellow-gold highlights. The overall effect is bright but not harsh, with enough softness in the ground to let the motif read elegantly rather than busily.

How to use it

This colourway works well where you want pattern without darkening the room, especially on upholstered accent chairs or a statement blind. Pair the warm cream and multicoloured vine with painted wood, pale timber and grounded neutrals so the reds and blues stay fresh.

Use it to bring a lifted, decorative softness to tailored interiors.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
