About this fabric

This Colefax and Fowler fabric is a 144cm-wide textile in 47% viscose, 19% cotton, 18% linen and 16% polyester, with a vertical repeat of 0cm and a horizontal repeat of approximately 12cm. In this colourway, the olive ground reads earthy and subdued rather than bright, while the narrow red stripes add a sharper, more graphic edge. The surface has a fine herringbone-like texture that breaks up the stripes and softens the overall effect. With no performance features noted and a √CH fire code, it is a practical decorative cloth for schemes that want pattern without excess shine.

How to use it

The olive and red palette works well with oak, leather and aged brass, especially in rooms that suit a country-house or gentleman’s-club mood. Use it on a chair, bench or full-length curtains to bring structure and colour contrast without overwhelming the space.

Use it for tailored upholstery or curtains where the olive ground and red accents can read crisp and classic.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Burnham Stripe Tom/Olive without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
