Marldon Check Tomato/Sand

Hemsby Chks & Stripes FabricF3727-04

Marldon Check Tomato/Sand pairs a softened tomato red with sandy beige in a balanced woven check. The effect is warm, grounded and slightly sun-faded, with the linen blend giving the cloth a dry, tactile look.

About this fabric

This check is worked in alternating tomato-red and sand blocks, with the weave visible enough to give the surface a lightly rustic, cloth-like texture. The 16cm vertical and horizontal repeat creates a medium-scale check that reads clearly without feeling overly bold. At approximately 144cm wide, and composed of 57% viscose, 21% cotton, 12% linen and 10% polyester, it has the look of a versatile furnishing textile with a softened handle. The colourway feels warmer than a true red check, with the sand ground tempering the tomato notes and keeping the overall effect relaxed. The √CM fire code and Q 8 < T 3 care marking make it suitable for considered interior use.

How to use it

Use it for loose covers, cushions or a tailored blind where the warm red stripes can lift timber, wicker and neutral upholstery. It works especially well in country kitchens, dining rooms or snug spaces that suit its gentle, sun-baked tone.

A warm check that brings a casual, country-house feel with easy pairing in natural woods and linen.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Marldon Check Tomato/Sand without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
