Hemsby Check Old Blue

Hemsby Chks & Stripes FabricF3728-04

Hemsby Check Old Blue is a calm, softly weathered check with a misty blue ground and pale, chalky crossing lines. The result feels tailored but gentle, with the weave giving the colour a dry, textile depth.

About this fabric

This colourway reads as a muted old blue with a cool, greyed cast, lifted by creamy ivory checks that keep the pattern light and airy. The small woven structure gives the surface a neat, textural finish rather than a flat printed look, and the 12cm by 12cm repeat keeps the check pleasantly ordered. Woven in 57% viscose, 21% cotton, 12% linen and 10% polyester, it has a balanced handle that suits both upholstery and drapery. At approximately 143cm wide, it works well for curtains, cushions and covered furniture where a refined check is wanted without strong contrast.

How to use it

Use it with pale timber, parchment whites and brushed metal for a fresh country-smart scheme. Its softened blue tone also sits neatly beside linen neutrals and faded navy accents.

Pair with pale oak, chalky paint tones and simple stripes for a crisp, tailored look.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Hemsby Check Old Blue without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
