About this fabric
This Colefax and Fowler fabric from the Hemsby Chks & Stripes collection has a balanced 12cm by 12cm repeat and a usable width of approximately 143cm. The blend of 57% viscose, 21% cotton, 12% linen and 10% polyester gives the cloth a linen-like, lightly textured face with a smoother, more polished finish than a pure natural fibre. In this colourway, the beige ground sits in a muted stone register, while the narrow cream lines read crisp and understated rather than high-contrast. The overall effect is orderly and smart, with enough softness in the weave to keep the check from feeling too formal.
How to use it
Use it on a tailored armchair, window seat or relaxed blind where the stone-toned ground can warm up pale timber, chalk paint and limestone. It also works well in rooms that need pattern without noise, thanks to the restrained contrast of the check.
A refined neutral check that brings quiet structure to both upholstery and curtains.

Pairs well with
A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Hemsby Check Stone without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.
Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
