Drummond Old Blue

Hugo FabricF3924-10

Drummond Old Blue reads as a softly weathered blue with a pale, chalky cast, woven into a fine small-scale check. The texture is crisp but gentle, giving the swatch a tailored look without feeling severe.

About this fabric

This Hugo fabric by Colefax and Fowler has a neat, small check effect created by the weave rather than any printed repeat, with a repeat of V 0cm / H 0cm approx. The colourway is a muted old blue, lightened by airy grey and off-white threads so the surface feels cool, calm and slightly linen-like. At 140cm wide and made from 46% viscose, 22% linen, 22% cotton and 10% polyester, it has enough structure for upholstery while still feeling suitable for drapery and loose covers. The overall finish is understated and smart, with a dry, softly nubby handle suggested by the visible weave.

How to use it

Use this colourway on a relaxed armchair, a bench or fitted cushions where its pale blue-grey tone can bring freshness without looking sharp. It also pairs well with oak, brushed nickel and chalky neutrals for a quiet, tailored interior.

A quietly tailored blue that works beautifully on neat upholstery or refined curtains.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Drummond Old Blue without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
