About this fabric

This colourway shows a cool, muted old blue softened by pale grey and natural flax tones, giving the surface a gently heathered effect. The fabric is a linen-rich blend of 38% Linen, 30% Viscose, 26% Cotton and 6% Polyester, and the close weave gives it a neat, lightly tactile finish. With a width of approximately 138cm and no discernible vertical or horizontal repeat, it has the feel of a versatile plain rather than a patterned statement. The colour sits comfortably between blue and grey, so it takes the edge off the crispness often found in stronger blues.

How to use it

Use Laurie Old Blue on an armchair, bench or cushions where its soft, cool tone can settle into a scheme without dominating it. It also works well at the window, where the muted blue reads calm and crisp against white paint or pale timber.

A quiet, adaptable blue that works well across tailored upholstery and relaxed curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
