Kinsford Old Blue

Irving FabricF4679-03

Kinsford Old Blue has a finely textured woven surface with a tiny repeating geometric effect that reads softly from a distance. The old blue ground is lifted by pale, creamy highlights, giving the swatch a calm, slightly weathered look.

About this fabric

This Irving fabric from Colefax and Fowler has a small repeat of approximately V 3cm / H 3cm and a width of approximately 137cm. The blend of 40% viscose, 30% cotton, 24% linen and 6% polyester gives the cloth a crisp but softly handled feel in the image, with visible slubs and a lightly pebbled surface. Kinsford Old Blue mixes a muted blue-grey with ivory, so the pattern feels gentle rather than graphic. The overall effect is tidy and understated, with enough texture to keep the colourway from looking flat.

How to use it

Use this old blue colourway on a tailored armchair, ottoman or Roman blind where its small-scale weave can read clearly. It pairs especially well with chalky neutrals, bleached woods and brushed metal finishes.

A restrained blue-and-ivory weave that feels tailored and easy to live with.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
